Rainbow 5, Nana Plaza - Premium Go-Go with Big Lineups

TL;DR

Rainbow 5 is one of Nana Plaza's premium go-go bars with massive lineups (100+ ladies on busy nights) and a chill atmosphere. Level 2, right corner from entrance. Great for taking your time - ladies aren't pushy about bar fines. Higher service prices but standard drink costs.

Quick Info

  • Location: Level 2, Nana Plaza (right corner from entrance)
  • Hours: 8pm-3am (sometimes 3:30am when management present)
  • Pricing: Premium tier - ฿5k short time, ฿8k long time, ฿1k bar fine
  • Drinks: ฿170 (yours), ฿230 (lady drinks), 2 lady drink minimum start policy
  • Peak Times: 10pm-12am, Thursday-Saturday for full lineup
  • Crowd: Mostly Asian with Western/international mix

Rainbow 5 is one of my go-to spots whenever I'm at Nana Plaza. The service pricing is higher than other bars in the complex, but if you're just there for drinks and the atmosphere, it's the same cost as anywhere else. The quality and relaxed vibe make it worth visiting regardless.

Layout & Setup

From Nana Plaza's main entrance, head up to level 2 and it's in the right corner. The bar has dual stage areas on each side with counters and stools surrounding them. High tables and chairs in the center give you good views of both stages, while bench seating extends along the sides toward the back. Toilet is all the way back right.

The Lineup

This is where Rainbow 5 shines. On busy nights, especially Thursday through Saturday during peak hours (10pm-12am), you can see 100+ ladies rotating through the stages. The sheer numbers mean there's variety, and I consistently spot several 8-9 lookers during my visits on busier days.

Pricing Structure

Rainbow 5 sits at the premium end for services in Nana Plaza, though drink prices are standard:

  • Short time: ฿5,000
  • Long time: ฿8,000
  • Bar fine: ฿1,000
  • Your drinks: ~฿170
  • Lady drinks: ~฿230
  • Note: Last time I went (late 2024), they had a 2 lady drink minimum start policy if you pick a lady - this wasn't there before, so it may have changed again.

Atmosphere & Approach

The overall vibe here is chill and friendly. Staff are welcoming, and importantly, the ladies generally aren't in a rush to pressure you for bar fines. You can take your time, enjoy drinks, chat, and make decisions without feeling rushed.

This contrasts with their sister bar Rainbow 4 next door on their left, where in my experience the ladies are much more direct about dropping the bar fine question after 1-2 drinks. Not wrong or right - just different approaches for different preferences.

When to Visit

Prime time is definitely 10pm-1am, particularly Thursday through Saturday when you get the full lineup and best energy. The combination of big lineup and big crowd creates the most vibrant atmosphere.

The bar opens at 8pm but takes time to build momentum. Sometimes they stay open until 3:30am when the boss or management is present, but standard closing is 3am.

Who Goes There

Predominantly Asian crowd with a good mix of Western and other international customers. The premium pricing tends to attract customers looking for quality over bargain hunting.

My Take

Rainbow 5 consistently delivers quality and variety. The large rotations mean fresh faces throughout the night, and the relaxed atmosphere lets you actually enjoy the experience rather than feeling pressured.

Yes, it's pricier than other Nana Plaza options, but when you factor in the lineup size, lady quality, and chill vibe, it's worth the premium for what you get.

It's become one of my regular stops whenever I'm at Nana Plaza - reliable quality and a place where you can take your time and enjoy the experience.
